![]() The cost is fair, and it doesn’t allow laddering. We have been summoning boss monsters from the deck with ease for long enough for me to, personally, find this card to just be a play-maker. Plenty of people will say that this card deserves to be banned, but I can’t say I agree with that notion. Verte is just insanely good.Īrt: 4/5 It’s a plant snake thing, so it’s as advertised at least. The OCG already has this card Limited it’s that good. Verte Anaconda is absolutely bonkers and I wouldn’t be shocked to see it banned. Each effect is a hard once per turn, which is kind of redundant on the second effect if successful, but it is what it is. Shaddolls can use this as well to get Shaddoll Fusion or El Shaddoll Fusion from Deck as well, so there’s another use. Verte is very powerful for anything Fusion-based, whether we have Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon or not. Dragon worth Main Decking in every Deck, something I never thought I’d say. You can also use Red-Eyes Fusion in a turn you summoned with this considering that’s a condition and not an effect, which gets insane when we get Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon to the TCG so we can splash that whole package in the TCG to get a untargetable negate that also pops cards and can’t be destroyed by effects itself, which would be insane to have that in a format with this card enough to make Dark Magician and Red-Eyes B. There’s a bunch of Fusion or Polymerization cards to copy that get good value off this. You also bypass the costs since those aren’t part of the effects, meaning no discard for Super Poly or no extra 1000 LP cost for Instant Fusion. This is insane to get cards like Instant Fusion and Super Poly from Deck to use. The better use of this card is the second effect where you can pay 2000 LP to send any Fusion or Polymerization Normal or Quick-Play Spell from Deck to grave to gain its effect, but you cannot summon monsters for the rest of the turn after this resolves. It also disrupts anything Attribute related, and tying it back to last week you get a monster to be DARK for Plunder Patroll for Plunder Patrollship Moerk, so there’s a cool connection if you aren’t locked to the archetype long enough to get to this and make good use of it. ![]() This works well with Predaplants of course, and it helps with Super Polymerization to get into Starving Venom Fusion Dragon. The first effect lets you target a face-up monster on the field and make it DARK for the turn. The summoning requirements are any 2 Effect Monsters, which is easy considering it isn’t hard to turn Tokens into other Link Monsters. Awful ATK on a Link-2 typically, DARK is great, Plant has good support, and arrows don’t give anything to the opponent and let you do more Link stuff or Pendulums if you wish. ![]() Verte Anaconda is a Link-2 DARK Plant with 500 ATK and arrows pointing Bottom Left and Bottom Right. We now start a new week with Links from Duel Overload, and we’re starting with the insane ones and this one will have a bunch of hype around it soon: Predaplant Verte Anaconda. When Red-Eyes Dragoon comes out, ban this card. Predaplant players may lose their archetype Link Monster because others can use it too easily, it has happened before and Predaplant monsters are notoriously easy to add into several decks (their Fusions alongside Super Poly as well). If they summon a negater or a big boss, you have to play around that as well. Yeah, you are left with a 500ATK monster on the field open to getting slapped for huge damage potentially, but if your opponent summons something like Dragoon you have to play around that. ![]() Players will do their plays before this, and finish with Verte’s effect. Sure, you’re locked out of Special Summons after this, but we know this kind of restriction means nothing in the game. In the case of Red-Eyes Fusion you’ll be throwing two monsters on top of that (thin of 3 cards off one monster) and be getting one of the most powerful monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh right now…and any deck can do it. Any Fusion or Poly spell you got in the deck becomes this cards effect and you get the deck thin on top of that by throwing that spell into the grave. 2000LP mid-to-late game may be a tough cost to stomach, but first turn it is nothing. Far too easy to summon with any two effect monsters and far too broken of an effect. If you think Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon is gonna get banned because of this, nope, this will get banned first, and it better. Predaplant Verte Anaconda starts a Duel Overload week, and this card is the bane of everyone’s existence right now alongside tomorrows card and Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon.
